Bugs on a Log

Ingredients

• 4-in sections celery (washed and dried)
• peanut butter
• raisins

Instruction

1. Fill celery sticks with peanut butter.
2. Press raisins here and there to represent bugs.

MATH ACTIVITY

Count the number of "bugs" on your log. Now estimate how many "bugs" are in your classroom. (Multiply your number by the number of students in your classroom.) Students will each report how many "bugs" they put on their logs. Add the total. Students will report how close was your estimates came to the correct number?
