Environmental Educator
Job Description
Environmental educators teach students about natural resources. Teaching may take place outdoors, while hiking, anoeing or sitting around a campfire. Environmental educators often work for the government, schools and nonprofit organizations in camps, parks, nature centers, environmental programs in museums. Most opportunities are part-time, short-term and low paying.
Skills
- It helps to be a nature lover in good physical condition who enjoys science and working outdoors
- Should be outgoing and enthusiastic with good spoken and communication skills and comfortable working with people of all ages
Preparation
Good grounding in life sciences, such as biology and ecology, and chemistry and math.
